On 2/27/2010 #43-Kareem Khalile was on hand only six weeks after his spinal injury and witnessed the Phoenix Outlaws go to 5-1 with an overtime victory over long time rival the Glendale Rangers 20-17. After the game Kareem stood out of his wheelchair and broke the team down! Life has it's special moments, and Kareem helped us all witness one on Saturday. Keep working hard Kareem we are all behind you, and love you brother!

PHOENIX OUTLAWS WILL BE STARTING YEAR 12
The 2010 season will be here before you know it! The Outlaws will be holding practices starting on September 26th and every Saturday at 3:00 pm. Each player will be required to fill out the league paperwork and sign a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 year contract. The longer your contract is the cheeper your team fee will be. Details will be on the "New Player" section of our web site. ALL POSITIONS are wide open for competition! For you to grab one of the starting spots for 2009 you MUST be there early! Even though the Outlaws have been one of the longest continued run franchises with all of it's history and tradition... every player on our roster has a chance to compete for a starting job. Last season 14 first year players started! If you have what it takes, you can to.

Darryl Dowell came to the Phoenix Outlaws from the Chandler Cobras and became an instant starter at right guard for many years. Voted to multiple All-Star games and was known to put a smile on everyone's face regardless of the situation. Gentle giant but loved by everyone who ever came across his past. We are all better for having known him, and we are all blessed that he came into our life. Your Virgin Island accent and massive smile will never be forgotten!
This season in week three against the Tri-City Titans, Darryl tore three ligaments in his ankle that ended his season. He had surgery on it and his ankle was put into a cast. On Tuesday the cast was removed and later that night while Darryl was home, a blood clot from his ankle traveled to his heart. Darryl you will be missed more than words can say, we will try to honor you and what you represented the very best that we can... Lord you now have a great one! God bless you Darryl and all of your family and loved ones in this time of sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
The CFL, Peoria Patriots and the Tri-City Titans also lost players as well in 2009. #58 Seth Baker of the Patriots and #99 Ben Mims of the Titans unfortunately left us way to early this season. The Outlaws send our prayers to their familys, friends, as well as their football familys.
